Transmission System
- Manual transmission: Driver selects gears using the clutch pedal and gear shifter.
- Clutch: A friction disc that disconnects the engine from the transmission while shifting.
- Automatic transmission: Uses a torque converter (fluid coupling) instead of a clutch; gears shift automatically.
- Gear ratios: Lower gears multiply torque (more pulling power, less speed). Higher gears = more speed, less torque.
- Drive shaft: Transfers power from the transmission to the axle.
- Differential: Allows the driven wheels to rotate at different speeds when turning (outer wheel covers more distance than inner wheel).
- 4WD: Powers all four wheels for better traction on loose or slippery terrain.
